Tourism Minister: Reduction of Plastic Waste, a Focus of 8th Sea Festival

Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon called on all parties involving in the organisation of this year's Sea Festival in Kampot province, as well as vendors, tourists and the general public to take part in reducing the plastic waste as much as they can so that the annual event takes place in a clean and green environment.

H.E. Thong Khon made the appeal while chairing a preparatory meeting in Kampot province yesterday.

H.E. Minister also called for social awareness campaign among the citizens, tourists and vendors on the impacts of plastic waste on the environment, and encouraged local authorities to pay high attention to warm hospitality, sanitation, safety, and order.

The Sea Festival, the 8th of its kind, will be held from Dec. 20-22, 2019 under the theme Clean City, Beautiful Bay, Healthy Tourism. Various entertainment programmes, including art performance, concert, sports events, martial arts competition, trade fair, Food Street, etc. will be organised to make the event more cheerful.

This year's Sea Festival is expected to attract not less than half a million visitors, underlined H.E. Thong Khon.
