Tourism Ministry and Partners Hold Cultural, Tourism and Sports Expo

The Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with public and private partners, has been organising a five-day Cultural, Tourism and Sports Expo at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh.
The opening ceremony of the expo took place in the evening of April 6 under the presidency of H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), and H.E. Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cambodia.
The expo is aimed to cheer the upcoming Khmer Traditional New Year, promote the national culture and boost domestic tourism products.
Addressing the function, H.E. Thong Khon underlined that the event is a good opportunity for the Cambodians and the tourists to learn more about the Morodok Techo National Stadium, which is a new national achievement, a new potential tourism product, and a venue for the 32nd SEA Games to be hosted by Cambodia in 2023.
He also called on tour operators, sub-national administrations, private sector and the general public to follow the health safety rules and the SOP guided by the Ministries of Health and Tourism, respectively to contribute to preventing the COVID-19 spread.
Besides the alomost-300-booth expo, there is a Khmer traditional costume show, Tik Tok Award 2022, fund raising for Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals and so on.
