Trade Negotiation Practitioner Manual Launched

The Ministry of Commerce launched officially on Tuesday the Trade Negotiation Practitioner Manual for Cambodia aiming to develop institutional and human resource capacity for formulating and implementing policies related to the trade sector.
The launching ceremony was held under the presidency of H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, with relevant officials and stakeholders in attendance.
The manual is aimed to provide guidance on the development of effective trade negotiation strategies and tactics based on Cambodia’s international trade policy and the Cambodian Trade Integration Strategy for trade negotiators and trade policy officials.
Speaking at the function, H.E. Pan Sorasak said Cambodia pays high attention to trade integration and export market diversification through participation in bilateral, regional and global frameworks, as well as free trade negotiations.
Cambodia, for instance, has finalised and ratified the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement, the Cambodia-China Bilateral Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA) and the Cambodia-Korea Bilateral Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA), he said, adding that the country is studying the possibility of free trade negotiations with other major trading partners.
“Building capacity on trade negotiation skills is very important for negotiators, so this manual is an important document to help further strengthen the capacity of Cambodian negotiators to be ready to participate in trade agreement negotiations at present and in the future,” H.E. Minister underlined.
