Transport Minister Asks CCCC to Speed up On-going Projects

Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol requested China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) to speed up the ongoing transportation projects and to seek cooperation possibilities with Cambodian National Road Safety Committee (NRSC) in order to enhance road safety in the country.

The request was made known in a recent news release from the ministry, highlighting the talk between the minister and Mr. Wen Gang, Vice President of CCCC, in China yesterday.

H.E. Sun Chanthol also asked the Chinese side to consider supporting road maintenance projects at sub-national level in order to ensure road safety across the country.

The Chinese side pledged to study these requests carefully and complete all projects on time with good quality. Mr. Wen Gang, according to the same source, promised to speed up the 190-kilometre-long Phnom Penh-Sihanouk expressway project by September 2022 to welcome ASEAN Summit in Preah Sihanouk province to be held later that year.

CCCC is a China's state-own enterprise with over 50 subsidiaries and has cooperated with the ministry to implement many road projects.
