U.S. Interested in Cambodia’s Tourism and Energetic Investment

The United States of America (USA) is interested in investing in tourism and energy in Cambodia.

The intention was revealed in a recent meetings between H.E. Tit Chantha and H.E. So Mara, Secretaries of State at the Ministry of Tourism, and visiting U.S. delegation led by Mr. Huot Kimchha, Cambodian Honorary Consular to California and Mr. Norman Arikawa, Assistant Director of Trade Development at the Port of Los Angeles (LA Port) here in Phnom Penh.

The Cambodian senior tourism officials underlined Cambodia's tourism potential and rapid development of the industry.

They continued that the Royal Government of Cambodia is working hard in promoting tourism sector by putting policy and long-term outlook in order to ensure the country's sustainable tourism development, and to make Cambodia an attractive tourism for the world.

Cambodia opens for all foreign investments in all sectors, particularly in tourism, the senior officials added.

From their end, the U.S. delegates expressed their commitment to encourage more American tourists to visit the Kingdom.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, during the first nine months of 2019, Cambodia welcomed 170,000 American visitors, making the U.S. the top 6th country with most tourists coming to Cambodia.
