U.S. Provides Additional Fund to Development Objective Agreement Grants

The U.S. government has provided an additional fund of US$6.25 million to the Development Objective Agreement Grants with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The supplementary amount was made known in a joint press announcement released yesterday evening.
According to the announcement, H.E. Chin Bun Sean, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions and Vice-Chairman of the Council for Development of Cambodia and Ms. Veena Reddy, Director of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) signed the additional fund agreement in Phnom Penh last week.
These new funds complement the over US$56 million the U.S. government provided through USAID Cambodia for the implementation of health, education, environment, and agriculture activities, it pointed out, adding that they include US$1 million for public health and education activities, and US$5.25 million for agriculture and environment activities.
“On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Council for the Development of Cambodia expresses its sincere thanks to the U.S. government and the American people for their contribution to the inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development of Cambodia, and for their contribution to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 in Cambodia,” said the joint press announcement. “The U.S. government likewise appreciates the continued collaboration with the Royal Government of Cambodia in areas of mutual interest.”
