US$7 Million from Sweden to Promote Cambodia’s SMEs

AKP Phnom Penh, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has committed US$7 million for Cambodia’s small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) – the intervention that will consequently contribute to alleviating the country’s poverty.

A dissemination workshop for SMEs was conducted recently here in Phnom Penh wherein representatives from about 100 entities of the said kind attended.

The areas in the scope of focus of the funding assistance include agriculture, food security, water and hygiene, and information and communication technology.

Support for the poor and the empowerment of women through the creation of job opportunities is also the aim of the financing.
