Using Cambodian Flag for Clothes Design Not Supported

The APSARA National Authority does not support the use of Cambodian flag for clothes design.

The remark was made by H.E. Long Kosal, Deputy Director-General and Spokesperson of the APSARA National Authority recently.

Using Cambodian flag for clothes designation is inappropriate, said H.E. Long Kosal, explaining that it is an insult to the nation.

The Cambodian flag represents the spirit of patriotism, and it is attached as an honour for military heroes who go out to fight for the national defence or to carry out humanitarian missions abroad.

When life is sacrificed at the battlefield, the coffin of the death is covered by the national flag to show respect to the devotion, he added.

He also suggested that if people want to show true patriotism, they should not use the flag for clothes design but take part in the protection of the environment, conservation of cultural heritage, and the like.
