UYFC to Lead the 5th Angkor Sangkranta in 2017

The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) will lead the organisation of 2017 Khmer New Year party so-called Angkor Sangkranta at the country’s ancient Siem Reap province.

The traditional Krong Peali (offering to the spirit) celebration to pray for success of the event was organised recently at the Terrace of the Elephants area in the province under the auspices of the Provincial Governor H.E. Khem Bunsong and President of UYFC H.E. Hun Many.

The unique and historic event have been organised through the support and collaboration with various government and private partners and intends to demonstrate solidarity spirit of great Khmer family.

The celebration also showcases key traditional practices and symbols to remind Cambodians in particular youth of next generations of the country’s prosperity.

Externally, it also promotes the awareness of the world about Cambodian history and contributes essentially to attracting more visitors to the Kingdom.

Fifth of its kind since its origination in 2013, the Angkor Sangkranta 2017 will fall on April 14-16 – the ordinary days of the Khmer New Year anticipated by all Cambodians.
