Vietnam Seeks Cambodia’s Continued Support to Vietnamese Immigrants and Investors

Vietnam has requested Cambodia to continue supporting and protecting documented Vietnamese immigrants and investors in Cambodia.

The request was made by visiting H.E. Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), and Head of the CPVCC's Mass Mobilisation Commission while paying a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA), at the NA Palace this morning.

H.E. Ms. Truong Thi Mai spoke highly of the trade exchange between both neighbouring nations and of Vietnamese investments in Cambodia.

For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin warmly welcomed the visit of H.E. Ms. Truong Thi Mai, stressing that it will contribute significantly to further tightening the traditional ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two parties, governments and peoples.

The cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam does not only bring about progress and prosperity to their respective nations, but also contributes to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world, he underlined.

Samdech Heng Samrin also expressed the Cambodian NA's support for both countries' Mass Mobilisation Commissions and encouraged them to promote their cooperation through experience exchange.
