Vietnamese PM To Visit Cambodia Early Next Week

Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, will lead a delegation to pay an official visit to Cambodia from April 24-26, 2017, said a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The upcoming visit will be made at the invitation of Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, it added.

According to the same source, during the visit, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc will be received in a Royal Audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. He will also pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, as well as hold bilateral talks with Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Besides, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc will pay a courtesy call on His Holiness Samdech Preah Akka Moha Sangharajadhipati Tep Vong, Great Supreme Patriarch of Mohanikaya of Cambodia.

On the occasion of this official visit, the two premiers will preside over the inaugural ceremony of the bridge connecting Chrey Thom (Kandal province, Cambodia) and Long Binh (An Giang province, Vietnam) to be held on April 24, 2017.

This visit will mark the celebration of the Friendship Year 2017 and the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Vietnam and will contribute to further elevating and strengthening the excellent bonds of traditional friendship, good neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

A Joint Statement will be issued and a number of cooperative agreements are expected to be signed at the conclusion of the official visit.
