Vietnam’s Tourism Promoted in Cambodia

Vietnam Tourism Roadshow, an event to promote Vietnam’s tourism in Cambodia, was organised here on Tuesday evening in the presence of H.E. Thong Khon, Cambodian Minister of Tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Thong Khon said Cambodia fully supports the tourism cooperation with Vietnam by participating in various tourism events in Vietnam and coordinating many study tours.
The ministry is planning to expand the Caravan Tour next year, by starting from a bordering province to Vietnam to further boost the people exchange and tourism between the two neighbouring countries, he added.
Cambodia and Vietnam are full of tourism potential which attracts not only their own people, but also visitors from the third country, said H.E. Minister, highlighting Cambodia’s efforts to build infrastructure, under the framework of Greater Mekong Sub-region, in the southern corridor which could be part of the tour package of both nations.
Cambodia received nearly 959,663 Vietnamese tourists last year and 392,388 in the first semester of 2017. Meanwhile, a total of 212,200 Cambodians visited Vietnam in 2016 and 131,000 in the first seven months of this year.
