WB: Cambodia Projected 6.9 Economic Growth for 2017-2018

Cambodia will manage to secure the country’s economic growth by 6.9 percent in 2017-2018, according to a World Bank’s senior official.

Mr. Ulrich Zachau, the bank’s Country Director for South East Asia, highlighted the projection during a recent workshop organised here in Phnom Penh.

The workshop intended to identify strengths and challenges for Cambodia’s economy as well as to determine priority areas to further reduce poverty in a sustainable way.

Garment, construction, tourism and agriculture remain the driving force behind the sustained growth of Cambodia’s economy, he added.
