Winning Pathway for Cambodian National Billiards Champion

Faith, persistent training despite successes, and confidence are seen as pathway for a Cambodian national main carom billiards champion Ms. Sruong Pheavy to succeed in the in-coming 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

First and foremost, she has earned complete faith from the Cambodia Billiards and Snookers Federation (CBSF) leadership that she will win gold medal from the regional challenge.

CBSF has 100-percent hope that Ms. Sruong Pheavy will win the medal for Cambodia, said Mr. Mara Socheat, CBSF Secretary General.

Ms. Sruong Pheavy has just won the LPBA World Championship 2023 in South Korea in addition to her various successes at international competitions.

Despite all the achievements, continued the secretary general, Ms. Sruong Pheavy continue to train very hard and take part in many tournaments, accumulating her skill to a level that brings pride to the federation.

Born in Thbong Khmum province of Cambodia, Ms. Sruong Pheavy has built her sport career and been a permanent resident at the Republic of Korea, a place she is grateful for especially in terms of opportunity for her career growth, for over a decade now.

In an email interview with AKP, she shared that representing Cambodia at billiards competitions and her continuous contribution to charity activities connect her with her home country no matter where she resides.

Her confidence in the sport as well as to achieve medal at SEA Games continue to grow, thanks to all the support and encouragement by her Cambodian fellows.

She said the priceless support not only for her but also other Cambodian athletes, and not only for them to win at the SEA Games but also to bring Cambodia sports to another level.

According to CBSF Secretary General Mr. Mara Socheat, Cambodia has prepared 10 disciplines under billiards for the 2023 SEA Games of which six were for men and four for women, and Ms. Sruong Pheavy will compete in two disciplines: billiards, one cushion, and three cushions.

Both Ms. Sruong Pheavy and Mr. Mara Socheat are enthusiastic about the games to happen in Cambodia in May 2023, after the country had waited 64 years to host it.
