Yoga 2016 To Be Held in Three Major Tourism Sites in Cambodia

The 2nd International Day of Yoga, co-organised by Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, Embassy of India in Cambodia and relevant institutions, is going to be celebrated in three main tourism sites in Cambodia next week, with the expectation of thousands of participants, mainly national and international youth tourists.

“On June 18, the celebration will be held at Angkor Wat Temple, Siem Reap province, and Sokha beach, Preah Sihanouk province, and on June 19 at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh,” said H.E. Pak Sokhom, Secretary of State for Tourism, at a recent press conference.

H.E. Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Cambodia, said that the upcoming event is aimed to raise public awareness on the benefits of yoga on health and to promote Cambodia-India tourism to the world’s market.

The International Day of Yoga 2015 took place in Siem Reap province and Phnom Penh capital with around 2,000 Cambodian and foreign participants.
