DPM, CABINET MINISTERS CONGRATULATE KING ON HIS OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY


KUALA LUMPUR, Cabinet Ministers, through their respective social media sites, prayed and expressed congratulations to His Majesty, Sultan Ibrahim in conjunction with the official birthday of the King of Malaysia, today.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his family prayed that Sultan Ibrahim reigns with full sovereignty, long life and is always blessed by Allah SWT.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof prayed that His Majesty would continue to reign on the throne with greatness, sovereignty, and prosperity and rule with justice and equity.

“We, all Malaysians pray that His Majesty the King will always be blessed,” he said.

Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil also prayed and expressed his congratulations on the official birthday of the King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim.

“Thank you from me and all the people of the Ministry of Communications and the Office of the Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament. Long live the King,” he said.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Depart
ment (Legislation and Institutional Reforms) Azalina Othman Said prayed that Allah SWT may extend the life of Tuanku and always be in His care and mercy.

Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek also prayed that Allah SWT would extend His life and bless His Majesty’s government.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu prayed that Allah SWT bestows long-lasting health and prosperity on Their Majesties, the King and the Queen and the entire Royal Family.

WOMAN DIES, TWO HURT AFTER CAR CRASHES INTO GUARDRAIL IN SIBU


SIBU, A woman was killed while two others were injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a guardrail along Jalan Kelupu-Julau-Durin (KJD), two kilometres (km) towards the Julau Flyover, last night.

Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Nicholas Belulin said the victim was identified as Eveely Emilya Epah, 22, who was the front passenger, while the victim’s husband Wilson Ajut, 25, the driver, sustained injuries to his left hand and another passenger, Linda Ujang, 19, fractured her left leg.

Nicholas said that an emergency call about the accident was received at 10.15 pm and a team was dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival at the scene, the team found that a female victim was trapped in the front passenger seat while the driver managed to save himself and the rear passenger was extricated by the health personnel, he said in a statement.

Firemen extricated the deceased victim from the crushed vehicle using special equipment before handing the body over to the police for further a
ction.

Based on the initial information received by the Fire and Rescue Department, the incident occurred when the trio were travelling from Betong in the southern part of Sarawak to Song, Kapit in the central part of the state.

‘THE LEGENDS CHARITY DINNER’ CONCERT RAISES OVER RM100,000 FOR ARTISTES


KUALA LUMPUR, ‘The Legends Charity Dinner’ concert held at Dewan Perdana Felda here last night raised funds of more than RM100,000.

The concert, organised by the Malaysian Artistes Association (Karyawan), featured energetic performances from several renowned artistes, including Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim, Rahimah Rahim, Datuk Ramli Sarip and Datuk Awie.

Karyawan president Datuk Freddie Fernandez said the concert aimed to raise funds and assist veteran artistes facing life difficulties, including illness and disabilities that require consistent support.

“… I do not have the exact amount yet, but I am sure today’s collection has exceeded the target after all 100 tables were sold … I am very thankful for the overwhelming support, which is beyond expectations.

“This is Karyawan’s first concert since the COVID-19 outbreak in our country … coupled with a strong lineup of singers, many came to show their support to ensure the welfare of artistes is taken care of,” he told reporters after the concert.

Besides t
he proceeds from table sales, funds were also raised through the purchase of the latest product from the local instant noodle brand Vit’s, Ramen Asam Laksa, which was launched in conjunction with the concert in collaboration with Khadijah.

Also present at the concert were Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam and his wife Toh Puan Asmah Abdul Rahman, as well as Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon and his wife.

Singers Harry Kool, Norshila Amin and Ezlynn kicked off the concert with their renditions of the songs Right Here With Him, Never Enough, Rambu Ramba, One More Valentine and Hi Hi Bye Bye.

The atmosphere heated up when Khadijah took over the stage, singing her popular songs such as Ku Sangka Siang Kiranya Malam, Potret Kasih, Ku Gembira Di Sampingmu and Ku Pendam Sebuah Duka.

Khadijah, also known as Ibu, mesmerised the audience with her vocals and casual communication, even teasing and dancing with the guests.

Khadijah also delivered Tan Sri P. Ramlee’s Getaran Jiwa with a new a
rrangement, duetting with the legendary artiste’s granddaughter Najua Nasir, before winding up her performance with the song Mencintaimu as a tribute to the late entertainer extraordinaire.

The appearance of Rahimah, affectionately known as Kak Gerl, evoked memories and touched the audience’s feelings with classic renditions of Cabaran Cinta, Semanis Manis Gula, and Gadis dan Bunga.

Rock icon Ramli transformed the event from formal to a more relaxed vibe by performing the poetic songs Bukan Kerna Nama and Perjalanan Hidup before taking guests down memory lane with the duet Doa Buat Kekasih with Khadijah.

“Thank you to all of you who generously support those in need and do not give up praying … may Palestine be free,” he said.

Awie also enlivened the atmosphere with his songs Layang-Layang Terputus Talinya and Sejati Di Penjara Janji, which tested his ability to hit high notes, and closed the concert with his popular song Terima Kasih.

All artistes were accompanied by musicians from the National Academy
of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara).

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof along with the state executive coun
cil members, assemblymen and the people of Melaka, conveyed their best wishes to the King on His Majesty’s official birthday.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor; Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nassuruddin Daud, also extended their congratulatory messages and best wishes to Sultan Ibrahim.

Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, on behalf of the state government and the people of Terengganu, prayed that Allah bestows His Majesty with long life and blesses His Majesty’s government.

KING ENJOYS BREAKFAST IN KAMPUNG BARU ON OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY


KUALA LUMPUR, The arrival of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at Nasi Lemak Wanjo today was a pleasant surprise and brought excitement to the visitors present at the restaurant located in Kampung Baru.

In a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook page, His Majesty arrived at the popular restaurant in Kampung Baru for breakfast.

‘Sultan Ibrahim also spent time talking and taking pictures with those present,’ it said.

Malaysians enjoy a public holiday in conjunction with the King’s official birthday today.
