KOTA BHARU, A four-wheel drive vehicle carrying 13 Orang Asli students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Panggung Jaya lost control due to a broken brake pump, causing the vehicle to overturn in Bukit Setol, while on its way to Pos Simpor, yesterday.

The Department of Orang Asli Development’s (JAKOA) corporate communications unit said that all students involved in the accident sustained minor injuries.

“Quick reaction by the students, who jumped out of the vehicle before it overturned, saved them from serious injuries.

“All students received medical treatment at the Kuala Betis Health Clinic,” the department said in a statement today.

JAKOA expressed gratitude to all parties who provided immediate support and assistance to the students involved.
