Cambodia has asked the Chinese side to encourage more tourists and investors from Fujian province to visit and invest in the Kingdom.
The request was made by H.E. Vong Sauth, Second Vice President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, during his meetings with Fujian leaders, on the sidelines of the Second World Conference of Sinologists in China, according to a press release from the NA General Secretariat issued yesterday after the return of a Cambodian NA delegation from China.
For their part, the same source continued, the Chinese side pledged to help enhance Cambodia’s economic and trade sectors and promote people-to-people relations, especially encourage more Chinese tourists and investors from Fujian to visit and invest in Cambodia.
From Oct. 25 to 29, H.E. Vong Sauth led an NA delegation to attend the Second World Conference of Sinologists, held in Fujian province under the theme “Understanding Chinese Civilisation and Promoting Global Modernisation.”
In his speech at the opening ceremony of t
he conference, H.E. Vong Sauth made five recommendations toward the realisation of global modernisation and the establishment of a community with a shared future for mankind, including promoting cooperation among scholars to share knowledge, promoting cultural exchanges and adhering to the principles of peaceful coexistence, supporting sustainable development initiatives, enhancing innovation and economic growth based on China’s successful example, and working together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
