Cambodia Spends Almost US$1 Million for Indelible Ink

Cambodia has spent a total of US$963,310 for indelible ink for the upcoming 7th National Election, said H.E. Prach Chan, President of the National Election Committee (NEC) in a dissemination meeting with relevant stakeholders on the testing of indelible ink held here this morning.

Of the total amount, he pointed out, US$916,760 is for the Indian-made indelible ink and the rest US$46,550 for delivery and insurance.

The polling stations across the country will receive two bottles of the indelible ink each and 800 bottles will be kept at provincial and capital election commissions for necessary need, and some others at the NEC.

NEC has sent its experts to observe the ink production line in India, said H.E. Prach Chan, adding that the indelible ink is valid for six months after production, with a deadline until November 2023.

Cambodia has been conducting a three-week-long National Election campaign since July 1 with the participation of 18 registered political parties, while the election day will fall on July 23.

According to NEC, a total of 9,710,645 eligible voters, of them 5,161,906 are women, will cast their votes in 23,789 polling stations throughout the country.
