Cambodia, Thailand Not to Allow Any Use of Their Territory against One Another

Cambodia and Thailand have re-emphasised their stance not to allow anyone to use their territory against each other’s country, which is very important for the security of both Cambodia and Thailand as well as their neighbours.

This is the spirit of the meeting here at the Peace Palace this morning between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, and visiting Thai Foreign Minister H.E. Maris Sangiampongsa.

Both sides lauded the strong relations and cooperation between the two neighbouring nations and welcomed the decision to establish consulate generals in Siem Reap of Cambodia and Songkhla of Thailand, which once operated will further boost the people-to-people exchange and investment.

H.E. Maris Sangiampongsa pledged to do his best to further deepen the relationship between both nations in all domains.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the Thai side for providing favourable condition for Cambodian people and migrant workers to do business, visit, and work
in Thailand by extending the visa validity from 40 to 60 days.

The former Cambodian Premier also encouraged more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia, and urged both sides to orginise different activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two neighbours.
