Cambodia, Thailand Pledge to Promote TVET Cooperation

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Thailand have pledged to further promote the cooperation on technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

The pledge was made in a meeting between H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and visiting H.E. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand here in Phnom Penh yesterday.

H.E. Ith Samheng underlined that in the context of industry 4.0, Cambodia is implementing the national policy on technical and vocational education and training to respond the demand in the current job markets.

The minister spoke highly of the good cooperation between the two countries on human resources training, a result of which was the Poun Phnom Cambodia-Thailand Institute inaugurated in 2002.

He thanked the Government of Thailand for supporting Cambodia’s human resources development, especially through the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who constructed school buildings for Cambodians in Kampong Thom and Kampong Speu provinces.

H.E. Anek Laothamatas lauded Cambodia’s rapid development and promised that Cambodia and Thailand will increase their intimate relations and good cooperation beneficial to both neighbouring countries and peoples.
