EAIC PLANTS 150 TREE SPECIES AT PD FOREST

SEREMBAN, The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) planted 150 tree species at Denai Warisan Hutan, PD Forest, Sungai Menyala near here two days ago as part of its initiative to foster awareness, accountability and integrity towards environmental greening.

Its Operations Director, Mohd Asnawi Abu Hanipah said it was carried out under the agency’s environmental programme, E.R.A.T (Encouraging Responsibility, Accountability, Trustworthiness), which was carried out in collaboration with the Negeri Sembilan Department of Environment (DOE) and the Department of Forestry (Forestry).

The programme is also aimed at preserving and conserving the ecosystem, he said, adding that among the tree species planted were Meranti Tembaga, Merawan Siput Jantan, Tampoi and Kundang.

“The trees were planted using the gap planting method which is suitable for the soil conditions in the forest reserve.

“Our goal is to educate and promote the importance of nature while providing natural habitats for our flora and fauna,” he said in a statement here today.

He said that in addition to fulfilling the demands of corporate social responsibility, the programme is EAIC’s commitment to the Malaysian Greening Programme in line with the goal of the 2021-2025 100 Million Tree-Planting campaign by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change.

The Environmental E.R.A.T programme was attended by 145 EAIC employees together with officers and staff of DOE and the Forestry Department.
