His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has appealed to all Cambodians from all walks of life to unite as one under the Constitution and State Law in contribution to protect and build the Cambodian motherland in all sectors.
The monarch made the appeal when presiding over a mass meeting, held in front of the Royal Palace here this morning as part of the three-day celebration of the 20th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Coronation Day (Oct. 29, 2004-Oct. 29, 2024).
This great national solidarity is the foundation for peace and political stability, which are the determinant of development in various fields, especially the economic sector, underlined His Majesty the King, adding that the great achievements we have attained so far really came from the efforts to expand the culture of peace, national reconciliation and unity, promote liberal multiparty democracy, human rights respect and human dignity, protect security, safety, stability and social order, improve g
overnance to promote the public sector and social equity, and boost cooperation to serve the national development request.
‘Through this grand meeting, we can conclude that our motherland and the people of Cambodia will indeed have a bright future with high hope, living under the same Constitution that guarantees strong national unity,’ said His Majesty the King. ‘Under the triumphant flag of national unity, under the peaceful flag of Buddhism, and under the auspices of His Majesty the King, our national ancestors, the famous founders of the magnificent temples everywhere in the Kingdom of Cambodia, there is truly no enemy that can encroach on the [Cambodian] territorial integrity.’
His Majesty the King also praised the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy – Phase 1 and policies taken following the noble path and the political legacy of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, which has brought about peace, solidarity and national unity, and enhanced national prestige at the international scene in line
with the principles of national unity and reconciliation, the last will of His Majesty the late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk (Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh).
‘We have been enjoying and reaping the positive benefits that come from the force of building and defending the harmonious motherland of our compatriots,’ he stressed.
The mass meeting was attended by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King; Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister; and many other senior officials as well as the armed forces, civil servants and foreign ambassadors accredited to Cambodia.
