Perak, Malaysia – Today, thousands of residents, alongside farmers, breeders, and fishermen, gathered to enjoy a grand feast at the ‘Kenduri Rakyat’ event, part of the National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen’s Day (HPPNK) 2023. The celebration, held at Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout, saw a massive turnout of participants indulging in various local delicacies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the head of the Kenduri Rakyat segment, the event featured a special dish, gulai kawah, prepared using a unique recipe from Kelantan. The feast, which ran from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, also offered dishes like ayam goreng berempah. Prepared by a group of 30 people, the event aimed to revive the traditional sense of community known as rewang, where people collaborate to cook food for large gatherings. Hisyam expressed his gratitude for the large crowd and the enthusiastic response to the event.
Mohd Faizul Mustafa, General Manager of the Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (KADA), highlighted that the Kenduri Rakyat is a new initiative, reflecting the principles of the MADANI Malaysia concept. This concept envisions a developed, prosperous, competitive, and harmonious nation, embracing multicultural and multireligious values. He explained that the Kenduri Rakyat symbolizes the spirit of a large, harmonious family coming together to prepare and share meals, aligning with the Selawat Perdana programme.
The three-day HPPNK 2023 celebration in Perak includes various activities and events, all inspired by the MADANI Malaysia Concept. The event focuses on four key areas: Agro Millenia, Agro Technology and Innovation, Prosperous MADANI, and Agro MADANI, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among Malaysia’s agricultural sector.
