Japan-Cambodia Association to Establish Phnom Penh Office in 2024

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) has announced its intention to open an office in Phnom Penh in 2024, aiming to enhance coordination and cooperation with Cambodia. This plan was disclosed by H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the JCA, during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.E. Sar Sokha in Phnom Penh on November 22.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the new office is set to act as a central hub for communication and coordination between Japanese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Cambodian investment stakeholders. H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki highlighted the JCA’s efforts to draw more Japanese professionals and high-tech SMEs to invest in Cambodia. The association’s focus includes promoting investment in various sectors like agriculture, tourism, and cosmetics.

Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sar Sokha welcomed the JCA’s initiative and appreciated the Japanese delegation’s interest in investing in Cambodia. He also acknowledged the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-Japan diplomatic relations and commended the JCA for its significant role in fostering bilateral cooperation and attracting Japanese investment to Cambodia.
