Kun Bokator, Kun Khmer Listed in SEAGF Charter and Rules

The Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) Council has decided to list Kun Bokator and Kun Khmer, Cambodia’s identity sports to its Charter and Rules.

The decision was made in the SEAGF Council Meeting held here on May 4 under the chairmanship of H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), with participants from the Olympic Committees of the ASEAN members.

The agreement from the member countries is to reply to Cambodia’s efforts in organising the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023 well, which have gained interest from the world, said H.E. Vath Chamroeun, NOCC Secretary General at a press conference after the meeting.

Under the banner “Cambodia 2023” and with the slogan “Sport: Live in Peace” – Cambodia is hosting the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games for the first time.

As the hosting country, Cambodia decided not to charge food and accommodation services for sport delegations to the regional sporting event.

SEA Games is expected to welcome over 12,400 athletes, coaches and staff from 11 participating countries.

Regional athletes are set to compete in 37 sports with 581 events – 304 for men, 229 for women and 48 mixed – at the SEA Games 2023 held in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.
