MBMB EYES RM120 MLN ASSESSMENT COLLECTION THIS YEAR

The Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB) is targeting its assessment collection for this year to reach 85 per cent or about RM120 million compared to last year’s 80 per cent or RM105 million.

State senior Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Rais Yasin said the targeted collection would involve about 149,000 owners of premises under the administration of the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB).

To achieve the target, the MBMB is offering 200 lucky draw prizes worth a total of RM210,000, including the main prize of a RM50,000 Perodua Axia AV car.

“The 2023 Assessment Lucky Draw prize will be divided into two categories of payers, which is online that offers a Perodua Axia AV as the main prize, in addition to a Yamaha motorcycle and three Honda motorcycles.

“For those paying manually, the main prizes of the luck draw include a washing machine, two laptops and a freezer,” he told a media conference at the 2023 MBMB Assessment Lucky Draw programme in conjunction with the MBMB 20th anniversary celebration, here, today.

He said the special prize offered for the online payment category was to encourage more people to settle their assessments that way instead of manually.

Rais said the eligibility requirements for the luck draw programme are that they must be Malaysian citizens, settle all taxes and arrears on or before Aug 31 and they must complete the owners’ information (Forms I and J) such as the latest owner’s name and identity card number.
