Perkeso Rehab Centre In Ipoh Can Empower RTW Programme


IPOH, The Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) expects more than 3,000 patients to receive holistic treatment annually at the National Neuro-Robotic and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre in Meru Raya here.

Perkeso Rehabilitation Centre executive director Datuk Dr Hafez Hussain said the facility would enhance the effectiveness of the Perkeso Return To Work (RTW) programme, which has helped over 63,241 individuals return to work since 2017.

He said the rehabilitation centre offers services to eligible contributors under several Perkeso schemes, including the Employment Injury Scheme, Invalidity Pensions, Employment Insurance Scheme, Domestic Accident Protection Benefits and Invalidity Protection Benefits for housewives.

‘The treatment provided focuses on various conditions, including musculoskeletal and neurology-related injuries like stroke and brain damage,’ he said.

He said this at the Perkeso Rehabilitation Centre Decade Programme at a hotel here which was also attended by over 100 participants from go
vernment agencies, corporate firms, non-governmental organisations (NGO) and employer representatives from Perak.

On Aug 7, Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the RM654 million rehabilitation centre, built on a 15.57-hectare piece of land, had reached 63.05 per cent completion and expected to be fully completed by May 1, 2025.
