SIEM REAP: The APSARA National Authority has announced the completion of the renovation of Wat Damnak Pagoda situated along the Siem Reap River, directly across from the Old Market in Wat Damnak village, Sangkat Sala Kamroeuk, Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this renovation marks the first significant update to the Vihara in a century, stressed the same source in a news release. The APSARA National Authority expresses strong optimism that this newly renovated Vihara will effectively serve its intended purposes for the local Buddhist community. It is expected to facilitate participation in festivals and allow monks to carry out their duties within the pagoda.

Additionally, the authority continued, the Vihara will play a role in educational and research initiatives aimed at preserving Cambodia’s ancient heritage. The Authority also anticipates that the site will attract tourists, providing them with opportunities to explore and learn about the region’s rich cultural
history beyond the famous ancient temples.
