The ‘Smile of Cambodia’ Event Promotes Cambodian Rich Culture to the World


The “Smile of Cambodia” is a very important event in promoting arts and culture for tourism, said Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, while presiding over the event’s official opening ceremony in front of the majestic Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province this morning.

The “Smile of Cambodia” is a testament to the smiles of the Cambodian people, as well as the beauty of the Khmer temples, representing the glorious civilisation of Cambodia, she underlined.

Samdech Men Sam An also praised the Khmer Artists Association for its efforts in contributing to the promotion of the nation’s culture and arts, especially by creating new works, and a pleasant atmosphere and smiles for tourists visiting the Kingdom.

The event was organised by the Khmer Artists Association in cooperation with the Siem Reap provincial administration, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the APSARA National Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Women’s Aff
airs, the National Committee for Upholding Social Morality and Women and Khmer Family Values, and other stakeholders.

Different activities ranging from entertainment programmes and Khmer food expo to small concerts with light sounds, performances of various art forms, have been prepared to cheer the event.

Taking place from Aug. 12 to 16, the ‘Smile of Cambodia’ is an event that brings together artists, well-known influencers on social media, and content producers to Angkor, the land of the glorious history of Cambodia, in order to jointly produce short videos on culture, traditions, custom, and famous tourist attractions in the Angkor area to showcase the potential of Cambodia’s natural cultural tourism to national and international tourists.
