Wanita UMNO Prioritises Flood Aid in Kemaman By-Election Campaign

Kuala Lumpur – Wanita UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) have announced a strategic adaptation of their campaign efforts for the upcoming Kemaman parliamentary by-election, focusing on providing aid to the people in case of floods. This decision aligns with the current environmental challenges anticipated during the Northeast Monsoon period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, comprehensive planning and precautionary measures have been arranged to ensure readiness for any eventualities during the electoral campaign. This emphasis on preparedness is particularly crucial, as the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted the Northeast Monsoon to persist until March next year.

Dr Noraini expressed her hope that voters in Kemaman would lend their support to BN’s direct candidate, retired General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, in the parliamentary by-election. The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled the polling day for December 2, with nominations set for November 18 and early voting on November 28.

The necessity for the by-election arises following the Terengganu Election Court’s annulment of the victory of Che Alias Hamid of PAS in last year’s 15th General Election. This development has set the stage for a renewed electoral contest for the Kemaman parliamentary seat.
