A total of 145 entrepreneurs from 14 states will enliven the three-day MADANI national-level One District One Industry (SDSI) Exhibition at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) here from Oct 6.

Melaka Entrepreneur, Cooperative Development and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Allex Seah Shoo Chin said the exhibition, a platform for entrepreneurs to promote their products, is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors from within and outside the state.

“Each state is expected to promote between 10 and 15 products involving the food and beverage (FandB) cluster, health products or services, handicraft products as well as homestays.

“Thus, the SDSI is the best platform to help local entrepreneurs, especially small and medium businesses, to promote their products,” he said at a press conference here today.

In addition, the MADANI Miscellaneous Sales will also be held, with each state focusing on three special food menus that represent the state and are popular among their people.

For example, he said, food entrepreneurs from Johor will sell mee bandung; mi kolok (Sarawak); and nyonya laksa and asam pedas (Melaka).

Seah said that business matching programmes, entrepreneurship seminars and access to financing opportunities would also be available for entrepreneurs throughout the three days of the exhibition.

“Other interesting programmes include the MADANI Cooperatives Sales, RAHMAH Sales and the MADANI Agro Sales, which offer a variety of daily necessities at cheaper prices to help ease the burden of the people.

“The ‘Malam Cinta Rasul’ programme, ‘Gema Irama MADANI’ Night and a lucky draw will also be held to attract visitors to the exhibition,” he added.
