Cambodia, Cuba Reach Two Cooperation Documents

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Cuba this evening signed two cooperation deals to boost their bilateral cooperation in physical education, sports, and culture.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his visiting Cuban counterpart H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz, following their bilateral meeting at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.
The first document is the Agreement of Cooperation in the field of Physical Education and Sports signed between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, and H.E. Osvaldo Vento Montiller, President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba.
The second document is the Programme of Cooperation and Cultural Exchange between H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia and H.E. Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba.

Cambodia and Cuba Look for More Cooperation in Health

Cambodian and Cuban leaders have expressed their intention to further enhance their cooperation in the field of health and other sectors.
The intention was made known during the bilateral meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his visiting Cuban counterpart H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz.
H.E. Eang Sophalleth, assistant to the Cambodian Premier told reporters after the bilateral talks that H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz profoundly thanked the Cambodian side for the warm hospitality and expressed his will to strengthen and expand the relations between both nations based on the existing cooperation, particularly in the areas of education, health, culture and so on.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of the achievements of Cuba, especially in health sector and the anti-COVID-19 campaign, and asked Cuba to consider promoting the cooperation with Cambodia, mainly in sports, investment and information sectors.
Besides, both leaders exchanged views on current regional and global challenges.
After their bilateral meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz presided over the signing ceremony of two important documents – Agreement of Cooperation in the field of Physical Education and Sports, and the Programme of Cooperation and Cultural Exchange for 2022-2027.
A high-level Cuban delegation led by Prime Minister H.E. Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived in Phnom Penh this afternoon for a three-day official visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Cambodia Expresses Concern over North Korea’s Ballistic Missile Test-Launch

AKP Phnom Penh, October 04, 2022 — The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia has issued a statement, showing its concern over the ballistic missile test-launch conducted by North Korea.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia expresses its concern over the ballistic missile test-launch conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Oct. 4, 2022, which is another violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions and may escalate tensions and threaten regional peace and stability,” read the statement made public this evening.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation calls on DPRK to comply fully with all relevant UNSC Resolutions and its international obligations and calls on all concerned parties to exercise self-restraint and create an environment conducive to the early resumption of the Six-Party Talks to bring about a complete, verifiable, irreversible, and peaceful denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula,” the statement underlined.
