Cambodia, ROK Agree to Study Possibility of Creating Cambodia-ROK SEZ


Cambodia and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have agreed to study the possibility of establishing Cambodia-ROK Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in specific sectors to attract more Korean investment flow in the former.

The agreement is a part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Investment Cooperation signed by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and H.E. Ahn Dukgeun, ROK’s Minister for Trade, Industry and Energy.

The signing ceremony took place in Seoul, ROK on May 16 under the witness of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and ROK’s President H.E. Yoon Suk Yeol, following their bilateral summit meeting.

According to the CDC, the MoU is designed to strengthen cooperation on investment facilitation in both Cambodia and ROK through the establishment of favourable environment for starting up, operating and expanding investment and business activities.
