DPM Prak Sokhonn to Attend Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in India

AKP Phnom Penh– Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a delegation to attend the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (SAIFMM) to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations to be held in New Delhi, India on June 16-17.

The participation will be made at the invitation of H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation AKP received this afternoon.

According to the source, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers and H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar will review ASEAN-India cooperation and discuss ways and means to further promote ASEAN India dialogue relations and cooperation to address the global Post Covid-19 economic recovery and other challenges. Regional and international issues of common interest and concern will also be discussed. The meeting emphasises the strong commitment to further enhance ASEAN-India Partnership for long-term cooperation for peace, stability, security and socio-economic development within and beyond the region.

On the margins of the meeting, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend as a Special Guest and deliver a speech at the Ministerial Session of the 12th Delhi Dialogue, under the theme “Building Bridges in Indo-Pacific”, which will be co-organised by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

During his stay in New Delhi, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, together with other ASEAN Foreign Ministers and ASEAN Secretary General, will also pay a courtesy call on H.E. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
