First Ten Days of Election Campaign Were Peaceful

The first ten days of the campaign for Cambodia’s 7th mandate general election went smoothly.

The update was shared in an announcement issued on July 11 by the National Election Committee of Cambodia (NEC) following a review meeting chaired by its member H.E. Hel Sarath.

Running political parties peacefully organised their respective campaign such as meetings with their supporters, conducting home visits, staging concerts, screening videos, and profiling themselves on social media.

NEC has also ensured equal airing time for all political parties to promote their political programmes on state-run radio and television.

According to the announcement, 15 of the 18 participating parties organised mass procession.

Within the review period, there were two complaints in Banteay Meanchey and Phnom Penh and they have been well addressed.
