KESUMA Hails Malaysia’s Success At WSC 2024

PUTRAJAYA, The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) remains optimistic that Malaysia’s success at the WorldSkills Competition (WSC 2024) not only brings pride to the nation but also showcases the capability and excellence of the country’s skilled workforce on the global stage.

In a statement following the contingent’s return today, KESUMA said the competition allowed the Malaysian team to explore various technologies and best practices from other countries, further strengthening the competitiveness of the local workforce.

‘Such competitions highlight the excellence of the nation’s skilled professionals and reaffirm that Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is both competent and of high quality, meeting international standards,’ the ministry said in a statement today.

KESUMA also announced special incentives to reward the Malaysian contingent’s achievements at WSC Lyon 2024, aimed at inspiring more youth to pursue high-skill careers and compete at the global level.

WSC Lyon 20
24 saw four Malaysian participants excel, winning one bronze medal and three Medallions for Excellence, an accomplishment to be proud of.

The competition, held from Sept 10 to 15, attracted 1,400 participants from over 70 countries, competing across 62 skill categories.

Malaysia was represented by 15 skilled youth across 14 categories, including Robotics System Integration, IT Software Solutions for Business, Heavy Vehicle Technology, and Digital Construction.
