TANGKAK, The 2024 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) is expected to be a platform for the local community to continue appreciating the meaning of independence, as in previous years, said the Johor-level KMJG head secretariat Abdul Rahman Abdul Halim.

He said the state-level KMJG convoy involves 100 participants with 77 vehicles travelling through several districts, ending in Segamat on Saturday (July 27), besides stopping at several locations to participate in programmes hosted by the Information Department.

He said KMJG participants would encourage people to fly the Jalur Gemilang.

The Melaka KMJG convoy handed over the Jalur Gemilang to the Tangkak district officer Mohd Farid Kassim and the Johor Information Departm
ent director Saiful Hisham Mansor.

Meanwhile, Suzuki V-Storm Owner Club Malaysia president Mohamad Zaidi Yahya said they aimed to foster a patriotic spirit among riders and strengthen their camaraderie.

The KMJG2024 convoy travelled to Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka before arriving in Johor. It will continue its journey to Terengganu, Perak, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, and Perlis before ending in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 21.
