Malaysian Nurul Ain and Husband Committed to Supporting Palestinian People

KUALA LUMPUR: After safely returning from Palestine, Malaysian Nurul Ain Haron, along with her husband, has reaffirmed her commitment to continue aiding the Palestinian people. Nurul Ain, a 37-year-old dental assistant working in the United Arab Emirates, was previously stranded in Palestine.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, despite the logistical challenges of delivering aid to Palestinians, she and her 33-year-old Palestinian husband, Mohamed A.M. Shaat, are determined to continue their support. They plan to provide financial assistance, particularly through Nurul Ain’s brother-in-law, who is actively involved in the region. Nurul Ain shared these insights during a dialogue titled ‘Gaza Dihatiku’ with local media at Surau Al-Mukarammah.

Nurul Ain explained that sending physical aid, such as food items, has become increasingly difficult due to the lengthy process of obtaining entry approval and the harsh weather conditions that can spoil the goods. Consequently, they have decided that offering cash assistance is a more effective means of helping.

She also encouraged non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to persist in their efforts to provide various forms of aid to the Palestinian people. Nurul Ain acknowledged the potential for NGOs to successfully distribute food aid but noted that, for her personal efforts, providing financial support is more feasible.

The government media office in Gaza reported on November 15 that the death toll from Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since October 7 has reached 11,500, including 4,710 children and 3,160 women.

Nurul Ain and her husband, who managed to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing in Egypt, arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha, Qatar, on November 14.
