NS Police Chief Urges Calm in Response to Email Bomb Threats at Schools

SEREMBAN – Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof, has issued a statement urging schools and parents in the state to remain calm and immediately report any email bomb threats to the police.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Dzaffir emphasized the importance of not panicking and the necessity of prompt reporting to the police for further action. He assured that the Negeri Sembilan police take these threats seriously and will act immediately to ensure the safety of students, thereby addressing parents’ concerns about their children’s security. The public was also advised against spreading false news, which could cause unnecessary anxiety and threaten public safety.

Ahmad Dzaffir reported that the police had received three reports of false bomb threats at private schools in Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau. The Negeri Sembilan Contingent Bomb Disposal Unit conducted investigations at these locations. Initial investigations revealed no bombs at the schools mentioned in the emails. These incidents are being investigated under relevant sections of the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act for making criminal threats.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain disclosed that as of 2 pm today, the Royal Malaysia Police had received 37 reports of false bomb threats at schools nationwide, with the highest number of reports in Selangor, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Johor.
