Penang State Assembly Passes Motion in Solidarity with Palestine

George Town, Malaysia – The Penang State Legislative Assembly has unanimously approved a motion expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing conflict with the Israeli Zionist regime. The motion, presented by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, was passed without debate.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chow stated that the motion reflects the Penang state government’s firm stance on the Palestinian issue, echoing the sentiments expressed by Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak during the opening speech of the state assembly meeting. Ahmad Fuzi had called for an immediate cessation of violence, killings, and cruelty against Palestinian civilians, highlighting the severe impact on women, children, and the loss of homes.

The approval of this motion signifies Penang’s strong support for the Palestinian cause and aligns with the state government’s position on advocating for peace and an end to the conflict in the region.
