PM Gives Recommendations to Khmer Artistes Association


Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has given some recommendations to the Khmer Artistes Association (KAS) to improve its work efficiency and contribute more actively to preserving the national culture.

While receiving a delegation of the KAS’ management at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged the association to cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in the precise study, research, documentation and identification of art works, and to continue participating in the dissemination of art works more widely through the organisation of events or activities to make the public aware of the nation’s cultural richness.

The Premier also advised KAS to continue boosting the flexible implementation of cultural works on a specific and clear basis to promote the market by ensuring the sustainability of the arts sector with creativity, and encouraged the association to enhance the effective implementation of the code of ethics of artistes and to
take part in the dissemination of educational messages such as the fight against illicit drugs and strive to produce original contents.

For her part, Neak Oknha Mao Chamnan, President of KAS, briefed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet on the association’s achievements so far, the adjustment of its leadership structure and internal rules, as well as its action plan and work direction.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister praised KAS for its achievements and encouraged the association to continue its efforts to gather artistes of all art forms and give them opportunity to contribute to the country’s arts development, especially to help disadvantaged and elderly artistes who have lost their ability to perform.
