KOTA KINABALU, Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) aims to approve RM7 million in business financing for 20 companies in Sabah this year.

Chairman Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said that the amount, RM1.01 million, has been approved as of last month, while RM3.6 million is undergoing the approval process.

‘Since the establishment of PUNB until June 2024, it has approved business financing worth RM100.5 million to 468 companies involving about 600 entrepreneurs in Sabah,’ he said when officiating at the launch of the PUNB Sabah new regional office at Aeropod Commercial Square here today.

Acryl Sani said PUNB offers financing schemes for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses in the oil and gas and other supporting sectors.

He said the new office is also PUNB’s commitment to continue offering the best services to Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sabah.

Acryl Sani said the concept of the new office differs from other branch offices or the headquarters as for the first time, a centre of excellence has b
een established to offer facilities and services to Bumiputera entrepreneurs to seek advice, guidance, and mentorship from PUNB officers.

He noted that PUNB will also ensure that entrepreneurs are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed in this competitive industry.

PUNB also offers support and guidance through business consultations to assist entrepreneurs overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities more effectively, Acryl Sani said.

‘Entrepreneurs also do not need to worry or lose motivation if they have problems applying for financing online, instead, they just need to come to the PUNB office and seek guidance from officers on duty,’ he said.

At the event, a new corporate song titled ‘Gemilang Bersama’ was introduced, in conjunction with the 33rd anniversary celebration of PUNB, which falls on July 17.
