Residents of Run Ta Ek Eco-Village have a Prosperous Life

Residents who volunteer to leave the Angkor area for Run Ta Ek Eco-Village confirm that they have a prosperous daily life because they have land for farming and use as needed, said the APSARA National Authority in a news release on Thursday.
Mr. Rin Sruoch, a former resident of Sras Srang village, Nokor Thom commune, Siem Reap city, said that when he lived in the Angkor site, he had a small plot of land that was not legally owned and he could not take full advantage of the land. His family volunteered to leave the protected area of Angkor to live in Run Ta Ek Eco-Village. He said that now he has prepared a house as a guest house for tourists, and he receives a decent monthly income from the house and farm. Mr. Sruoch is happy because living in Run Ta Ek Eco-Village allows him to do whatever he wants for a living.
Ms. Key Kinnary said that she volunteered to move to Run Ta Ek Eco-Village for five years. Since she moved in, she has been cultivating crops such as coconuts, papayas, pineapples, and lemons and raising cattle such as chickens, ducks, and geese. Today, Ms. Kinnary owns 13 cows and more than 100 chickens, ducks, and geese.
She can earn at least 30,000 Riel daily from selling lemons, duck eggs, and chicken eggs. In particular, during the goose egg season, he can earn a considerable amount of daily income by selling goose eggs, which makes life easier.
For the current business, many families have joined the APSARA National Authority, some are engaged in building houses for tourists, and others are farming on their own land, which is why they earn a lot of money each month.
