Singapore Prime Minister H.E. Lee Hsien Loong has expressed his congratulations to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for the successful hosting of ASEAN Summits and Related Summits.
“Thanks to Samdech Hun Sen, Cambodian Prime Minister for the warm hospitality and for a successful ASEAN Chairmanship year,” he wrote on his Facebook page yesterday.
“Wrapped up the ASEAN 2022 Summits with discussions on current strategic, political, and economic issues at the 17th East Asia Summit (EAS) this morning (Nov. 13). We are a very diverse group, but the strength of ASEAN and the EAS is in bringing the Leaders together for dialogue and discussion,” the Singapore leader added.
For his part, UN Secretary-General António Guterres also appreciated Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship.
“I thank Cambodia as the Chair of ASEAN for its important efforts as this time of serious global challenges,” he tweeted. “We need to strengthen our collective action to find multilateral solutions and get the Global Goals back on track.”
At the same time, other ASEAN and world leaders attending the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits hosted by Cambodia from Nov. 8 to 13 have also congratulated Cambodia on the successful ASEAN Chairmanship and the excellent arrangement in hosting the summits.
