Cambodia Congratulates National Congress of Chinese Communist Party

Cambodia Senate has conveyed a congratory message for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to happen on Oct. 16.
It emphasised the importance of the congress as the People’s Republic of China (PRC) continues to enjoy prosperous socio-economic growth.
The Cambodia Senate strongly believed that the congress will set out new comprehensive strategy and objectives to further push PRC’s growth.
CPC’s right and wise leadership has made PRC the world 2nd economic power and pushed its people out of poverty since 2020.
The message reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm stance in supporting the One China policy despite the on-going changing and complex global situation and consideration of PRC as good neighbour, friend, and partner.
It also thanked PRC government and people for all the supports to Cambodia, including the assistance to fight against COVID-19, contributing essentially to the protection of the country’s independence and sovereignty.

Special Music Video Telling “Life of a Pagoda Boy” Launched

A music video profiling the “Life of a Pagoda Boy” authored by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has been officially launched.
The inauguration ceremony of the music video took place here in Phnom Penh on Sept. 28 under the presidency of H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts.
The video reflects the perseverance of a pagoda boy to overcome life obstacles to grasp knowledge and sharpen his future.
The 31-minute music video was produced by the Khmer Artists Association, directed by Mr. Fay Sam Ang for almost a year.
On the occasion, H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona honoured Mr. Fay Sam Ang with a decoration and presented certificates of appreciation to the artists and the team participating in the production of the music video.

PM៖ Religion Plays Key Role in Building Mental Peace and Social Security

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said on Thursday that religion plays a key role in building mental peace, social security, and religious harmony in Cambodia and around the world.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen made the remarks while presiding over the opening ceremony of the 6th National Inter-Faith Forum Against Human Trafficking.
The organisation of the forum was resumed this year under the theme “Do Not Use Cambodia as Destination of Trafficking in Persons”, after being postponed in the past two years due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen laid stress on the harmony of religions in Cambodia, which always cooperate and support each other with gentleness, without conflict and without causing division and disaster in society.

Cambodia Sets ‘August 20’ as National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking

The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to set ‘August 20’ every year as the National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking, which allows all religious sects to gather to assess the results of the fight against human trafficking.
The decision was announced here this morning by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the opening ceremony of the 6th National Inter-Faith Forum Against Human-Trafficking under theme “Do Not Use Cambodia as Destination for Trafficking in Persons”.
The celebration of the National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking in Cambodia on Aug. 20 will be implemented from next year onwards, he said.
However, Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked all stakeholders to work together 365 days a year, not just on Aug. 20 to combat human trafficking.
The Premier also called on all religious sects to enhance their religious harmony in Cambodia to maintain peace and security for the people.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen: CPP Properly Implements Racial and Religious Harmony Policy

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), reaffirmed on Thursday that CPP has carried out well the policy of racial and religious harmony, which allows all religions to coexist.
“From the beginning to the end, the CPP has been properly implementing the racial and religious harmony policy that provides opportunity for all religions to coexist with a common goal,” he said in his opening remarks at the 6th National Inter-Faith Forum Against Human Trafficking themed “Do Not Use Cambodia as Destination for Trafficking in Persons”.
Racial and religious differences are not an obstacle to the national development process, which currently exists in Cambodia, he underlined.
In some countries where human rights and democracy considered to be highly respected, encounters between one religion and another can lead to violence, Samdech Techo Hun Sen added.
Buddhism is the state religion of Cambodia, but the country fully respects the religious freedom. The majority of the population are Buddhist, while the rest follow Islam, Christianity, animism and so on.
