Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge to Start Construction Next Year

A Cambodia-Korea friendship bridge project will break ground for construction in June 2025.

The information was shared by H.E. Phorn Rim, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, adding that the ministry is concluding an environmental and social impact assessment of the project to start the construction.

Once completed, the bridge will not only contribute to solving traffic congestion but also to promoting tourism in Phnom Penh capital.

The 2,375-metre-long and 27.5-metre-wide bridge will link the Night Market of Phnom Penh to Arey Ksat city of Kandal province.

Its construction will be funded by the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of Korea with a total contract cost of US$235 million, and would last about 60 months.
