Cambodian PM Emphasises Four Points with Myanmar Leader

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a conversation with H.E. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council of Myanmar, via videoconference this afternoon, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister told the media.

H.E. Kao Kim Hourn said that in the meeting, both leaders exchanged information on developments after their first physical meeting in Myanmar early this month.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underscored four important points for H.E. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, he added.

“As the Chair of ASEAN, Samdech Techo Hun Sen emphasised four points. First, the Myanmar Government is required to do its best to implement the Five-Point Consensus reached by the ASEAN leaders in April 2021; second, to ensure that the special envoy of ASEAN Chair can visit Myanmar for the first time in the near future; third, Samdech Techo called on all parties, including the Myanmar government, to stop violence and move towards a ceasefire in the near future; […] and fourth, Samdech Techo invited the Myanmar leader to join other ASEAN member states and other sides to provide humanitarian assistance to the Myanmar people who are in need of help the most as mentioned in their meeting early this month,” H.E. Kao Kim Hourn underlined.

The Cambodian Prime Minister paid a working visit to Myanmar on Jan. 7-8, 2022. As the ASEAN Chair, Samdech Techo Hun Sen has proposed initiatives to achieve peace and further development in Myanmar.
