EV Charging Stations to be Built at Petrol Stations

The Ministry of Public Works and Transports has discussed with owners of petrol stations to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations this year.

“Petrol stations such as Caltex, Total and PTT have agreed to build EV charging stations at their petrol stations. So we hope to have at least 10 EV charging stations in Cambodia by the end of this year,” said H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport, at the groundbreaking ceremony for Cross-Docking and Cold Storage Facility in Kean Svay district, Kandal province on Mar. 22.

H.E. Sun Chanthol pointed out that the charging stations will be built at the Ministry of Public Works in Phnom Penh and the provinces of Battambang, Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk.

Additionally, the ministry is planing to organise an EV showcase this Saturday with manufacturers of EVs and motorcycles participating to display their products.
