Possibility of Eco-Tourism at Cardamom Mountain and Tonle Sap Studied

The Ministry of Environment is studying the possibility to prepare three eco-tourism areas at Cardamom mountain and Tonle Sap Lake.
The ministry unveiled the intention yesterday, adding that the study is under the framework of Cambodia’s Sustainable Landscape and Ecotourism Project.
The ministry is organising consultation workshops toward the establishment of the eco-tourism in the said areas in the provinces of Siem Reap, Kampong Speu and Koh Kong.
The workshops were expected to define strategic mater plans for eco-tourism destinations.
The three eco-tourism areas are located at Preah Jayavarman-Norodom National Park “Phnom Kulen” in Siem Reap, Oral Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary and Central Cardamom Mountain National Park in Kampong Speu, and Tatai and Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuaries in Koh Kong.
